It took 177 years to build one of the most famous monuments of the capital, a very specific landmark in the centre of Paris, in the heart of the “Ile de la Cité”. In 1160, the bishop Maurice de Sully decided to raise a new cathedral in the Gothic style, characterized by stained glass windows, flying buttresses and an harmonic facade. Notre-Dame also harbours the relics of Christ’s crown of thorns since the Revolutionary era.
This visit will enable you to discover the various construction techniques that made this building possible at the time. We will also discuss the many works of art of art that are curated there, namely the stained glass windows. Do not miss this visit during your stay!
